On the morning of October 22, 2015, Bi Jingquan, Minister of China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA), met with the delegation led by Dr. Sue Desmond-Hellmann, the Chief Executive Officer of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Both sides exchanged opinions on jointly establishing a supervision think tank, improving supervision capacity and strengthening cooperation in international organizations and international conferences.
After the meeting, witnessed by Minister Bi Jingquan, CFDA Vice Minister Wu Zhen and Dr. Sue Desmond-Hellmann signed the Letter of Intention for Cooperation between The China Food and Drug Administration of the People's Republic of China and The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Relevant directors of CFDA's Department of Drug and Cosmetics Registration, Department of Drug and Cosmetics Supervision, Department of International Cooperation, Center for Drug Evaluation, Center for Food and Drug Inspection, and China Center for Food and Drug International Exchange attended the meeting and the signing ceremony.
