Invests in a New High Speed, In-line Blister Card Sealer at its Philadelphia Clinical Supply Facility

Somerset, NJ - Catalent Pharma Solutions, a leading provider of outsourced clinical and commercial packaging services to the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, announces the installation and qualification of a ZED in-line blister card sealer at its Clinical Supply Services facility in Philadelphia, PA. The addition of the automated ZED in-line blister card sealer is part of an ongoing investment to support the increasing global clinical trial requirements of our customers.

The in-line blister sealer provides maximum flexibility and is beneficial for both small and high-volume clinical trial packaging. The large sealing surface can accommodate both large or small format blister cards and the extended filling area allows up to eight different blister strips to be filled at one time, fully supporting the filling of complex blister card designs. With the capability to automatically place blister cards and blister strips, the Zed in-line blister card sealer can significantly reduce the run time of carding jobs. The dual sealing stations allow for increased speed throughout the process and assists in cutting the blister package sealing time in half. In addition to the increased efficiency that the automated process provides, the ZED in-line blister sealer offers online printing on blister cards and is available in standard ink and ultra-violet invisible colors. This is a similar process to how blister strips and bottles can be identified with printed codes.
