Ashland unveils optimised portfolio of tablet film coating systems

Ashland Specialty Ingredients has introduced an optimised range of functional tablet coatings following its recent acquisition of International Specialty Products (ISP).
The company's range of Aquarius tablet film coating systems offers superior performance and aesthetics for pharmaceutical products.
John Fitzpatrick, pharmaceutical specialties product leader at Ashland, said that the integration of Ashland and ISP had brought "massive synergies" to the company's customers.
"Our is a powerful coatings portfolio of virtually unequalled breadth, a vast expertise base with laboratories in the US, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Turkey, India and China, and a full service model that will address the customers' formulation problems."
The new lines of Aquarius products are being introduced to the market to meet pharmaceutical companies' excipient needs: Aquarius Prime, Aquarius Preferred and Aquarius Control film coating systems.
Stuart Porter, Ashland's technical lead for North American technical services and global film coating technology, praised the portfolio's performance versatility.
"We are focusing on what is important to our customers - getting the coatings to perform exactly in the manner that the customers require," he added.
